Join us at various locations around the city, as Tin Can converts into the Get Your Vote On: VOTOBooth. Make Your voice heard! Get Your Vote On wants to see what Issues matter to you in the upcoming Municiple Elections on  Nov. 19th, 2011. Our VotoBooth photographer and costumer will be on hand to capture the perfect image of you showing what you passionately believe in! Come dress up in our up in our “citizen hats”  (or even better bring your own costumes) and show us what issues matter to you!

It’s been a bit of a doozy of a week for us at Tin Can, having received our third expensive parking by-law ticket in a matter of weeks… We narrowly averted another one this evening, thanks to our friendly neighbours who lowered the trailer the required inch onto the hitch! Grrr! Since we run primarily as a free space for creative experiments, things like this hit us pretty hard. Any help you could offer in helping us to pay these giant tickets would go a long way towards helping us to sustain and continue this project. To kick off our Fall Workshop Series, we held a cozy evening of Tea & Origami hosted by our friend and talented local artist, Cha Cha. With cute little Chinese tea set in tow (and some delicious pu-erh tea), Cha Cha showed a small group of paper folders how to make translucent and multi-coloured paper snowflakes, which make really sweet little mobiles and hanging ornaments.
